Will the public be able to provide input on the trails and transit priorities established?

Yes. If voters pass the sales tax in November, a county-wide transportation plan would be developed by the county, city, beach towns, Wave Transit, Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO), and community partners to outline priorities for future growth. While initial and near-term transportation priorities have been outlined, this plan would serve as a foundation to identify future priority projects and ensure tax proceeds are utilized efficiently and effectively.

Numerous comprehensive bike/ped and transportation plans have already been developed that identify needs, projects and opportunities for the community, and those can be accessed at WMPO.org. Another important resource that will be utilized to identify ongoing priorities is Cape Fear Moving Forward 2045, which will help guide transportation projects in our region over the next 25 years.
